Typescript with the shooting script for Krzysztof Kieślowski’s film “X-ray” (1974), produced by the Documentary Film Studio. Before the film received this title, work on it proceeded under the working title “To Return as Soon as Possible”. The document concerns patients suffering from tuberculosis in a sanatorium. The shooting script contains an overall calculation of footage (520 m), technical data (colour film stock, types of cameras, lenses, and lighting), and a detailed division into numbered scenes and shots with indications of footage, type of shot, and percentage of sound. The descriptions include, among other things, medical examinations, X-ray imaging, surgery, veranda rest, the patients’ club, the departure of the bus, and the return of patients to work in a large industrial plant. The typescript has the character of a technical shooting script, with no visible handwritten corrections.
