ATKK-TEKSTY-I-006

Description

Computer printout containing Krzysztof Kieślowski’s text on the project for his film “100 Years of Polish Cinema”, prepared for BFI TV. The document includes a synopsis and a director’s statement. Kieślowski proposes to tell the history of cinema from the viewers’ point of view, conducting conversations with people of very different ages and professions, illustrated with excerpts from the films that moved them, amused them, or frightened them. He also describes a staging idea in which the interviewees would appear “inside” the films they are talking about. The technical-organisational section specifies the running time (60 minutes), the division between contemporary footage and archival clips, the 35 mm format, the production and post-production workflow, and the planned involvement of collaborators (including Paweł Łoziński and Ryszard Chutkowski).
