Typescript with the theatrical adaptation of Tadeusz Różewicz’s text “The Card Index” for Krzysztof Kieślowski’s television production “The Card Index” (1979). The document takes the form of a film-television screenplay, containing a “list of characters” and numbered scenes with indications of place and time of action (orchard, operetta buffet, theatre corridors, the streets of Warsaw, the protagonist’s apartment). Dialogues and detailed stage directions are written out. The text combines descriptions of camera movement and situations with citations and adaptations of Różewicz’s original lines (the Protagonist, Mother, Father, Uncle, Journalist, Chorus of Elders, etc.). The typescript has the character of a working production screenplay for the television version of the work.
