Typescript with an analysis of the results of a sociological survey concerning the socio-political and cultural situation in Poland, connected with the work of the “Experience and Future” seminar. The text takes the form of an analytical essay divided into sections devoted to diagnosing the economic crisis, mechanisms of power, relations between the state, the party, and society, as well as the condition of creative and intellectual circles. The authors discuss the causes of growing frustration and passivity, pointing to the inconsistency of official cultural policy, decision-making centralism, and the gap between declarations and practice. In later parts they formulate proposals for change: increasing citizens’ participation in decision-making, opening public debate, abandoning propagandistic language, and creating real conditions for cultural development. The document functions as a working programmatic expert report, prepared as a basis for further discussion and action.
