Typescript with the draft screenplay for the film “Decalogue, eleven” by Krzysztof Kieślowski and Krzysztof Piesiewicz, prepared in response to a proposal from the ZDF television network. The document takes the form of a detailed description of the film concept, which was intended to merge into a single whole the narrative threads of all ten episodes of the “Decalogue” (1988-1989) cycle. The authors introduce the character of a narrator – a young German Slavist, Reiner – living in the Warsaw apartment block inhabited by the protagonists of the “Decalogue”. Subsequent parts of the typescript describe his biography, narrative functions (commentary, interpretation, bridging of stories), and the outline of his involvement in particular episodes, with references to the ten episodes of the “Decalogue”. The document is a working draft of the screenplay, with a few technical corrections.
