Manuscript with a text titled “remarks by Viola and Darek on the screenplays” and a typescript with proposed casting for the main roles in the television cycle “Decalogue” (1988-1989) directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski, made from screenplays by Krzysztof Kieślowski and Krzysztof Piesiewicz and produced by the Tor Film Studio for Polish Television. The compilation includes collective roles listed under “all episodes” (among them the character of the “Stranger”. for whom Krzysztof Kieślowski himself is indicated as the cast choice, with the note “not an actor”), followed by separate blocks for Episodes I-X, where the roles are accompanied by the names of “ideal” and “real” actors, often with alternative suggestions written in parentheses or marked with a question mark. The typescript is a working preparatory document used in developing the casting for the series. The document also contains handwritten notes, deletions, and question marks next to some names, indicating the open and exploratory nature of the proposed lists.
