A typescript with the correspondence from Krzysztof Kieślowski to Zygmunt Kniaziołucki, Director of WFD, requesting permission to make the film “I was a soldier” (1970). The author of the film explains this with obligations towards the “Czołówka” Film Studio, where he undertook to make the film even before he became a permanent employee of WFD. At the time of the correspondence, the film was at the stage of documentation and script writing, with no plans for shooting. Another version of this document with handwritten signatures of the correspondents and the stamp of the Director of WFD has the reference number ATKK-BZ-I-021.
