Description

A typescript with the correspondence from Krzysztof Kieślowski to Zygmunt Kniaziołucki, Director of WFD, requesting permission to make the film “I was a soldier” (1970). The author of the film explains this with obligations towards the “Czołówka” Film Studio, where he undertook to make the film even before he took up a permanent position at WFD. At the time of correspondence, the film was at the stage of documentation and writing the script, with no plans for shooting. The document contains a handwritten response from the Director of WFD granting permission to make the film after the completion of the film “Łodzianie”. The document was handwritten with the signature of Krzysztof Kieślowski and Zygmunt Kniaziołucki on the stamp of the Director of WFD. Another version of this document without the handwritten corresponding signatures and without the stamp of the Director of WFD has the reference number ATKK-BZ-I-022.
